Using plants gathered from the garden and local area, Lisa Stevenson will lead you through a 3-hour workshop where you will learn how to harvest, store and prepare materials so that they can be used to create a small basket using the coiling technique. You will be introduced to various techniques for starting the spiral, and using the spiral stitch, learn how to build and shape your basket.  *Suitable for all abilities.  *All materials included (you can bring your own scissors for cutting string if you like).

    • Lisa Stevenson is a basket maker and fibre artist based on a rural property in Wamboin. With a passion for using natural materials, Lisa has been growing and harvesting her own plant fibres, or sustainably foraging materials from her local area. Creating functional and sculptural forms using various basketry techniques Lisa seeks to explore the possibilities of design with natural fibres. Sharing her passion for basketry, Lisa has been delivering workshops on various basketry techniques.  She is currently undertaking a degree in visual arts at Australian National University and has exhibited in Canberra and interstate.
